How do I make a payment?
Are payments automatic?
Installments are automatically debited via the payment method you allocate to that payment plan. Please make sure your payment methods are up-to-date and have sufficient funds.
What are bundled installments?
If multiple installments are due on the same day, via the same payment method, Zip may bundle these into a single transaction. For example, if you had a $25 installment as well as a $50 installment due on July 1, we would debit $75 from your allocated payment method on July 1 (assuming both installments had the same payment method allocated to them).
What if I do not want Zip to bundle my installments?
You can make early payments to avoid bundle transactions. You can also change your installment payment date to a later day, fees may apply.
How do I make a manual payment?
You can make a manual payment in the App before, on or after an installment due date on the card of your choice by following the steps below:
- Once logged into the app, select the Orders tab from the bottom of the screen
- Select the order where you would like to make a manual payment
- Select the "Pay" button on the installment you would like to pay
- On the next screen, select the payment method you would like to use and select "Pay" at the bottom of the screen
Your manual payment is now complete! Please allow 24-48 hours for the app to reflect these payments and update your spending power. For instructions on how to make a manual payment through our customer portal, please visit this article.
Can I pay multiple installments at once?
Yes! You can pay multiple installments at once. More information about paying multiple installments can be found here.
What happens if I don’t pay on time?
If you do not make an installment payment on time, a late fee will be applied to your order. The late fee will be equal to (i) $7.00 or (ii) the amount set forth in the Truth in Lending Disclosure based on your state of residence if less than $7.00. If you incur such a late fee, then it is due and payable immediately unless we provide otherwise. The applicable late fee can be found by viewing your order’s Truth in Lending Disclosure in the Zip App or customer portal.
Just make sure to have sufficient funds in your default card account to cover each upcoming installment payment.
Need some extra time?
At Zip, we understand that life comes at you fast, and we want to make things easier. At least 24 hours before an installment is due, you can update your payment date in the Zip app.
Your first payment date change in a calendar month is free however any subsequent changes within that same month will incur a $2 fee. The "free" payment date change resets automatically on the 1st of each month.
Important Notes:
- If you opt to defer your installment date, your account will be placed on hold until your next installment is paid, meaning you won't be able to make any purchases in that timeframe.
This procedure can only be done once per order. - Once the payment date change process is complete, you will not be able to make any further installment delays under that given order.
- If you are charged a late fee and do not believe you should have been, please contact us and we will gladly look into the matter further for you.
